NICHROME 80 WIRE
As coils became bigger and more elaborate, the limitations of Kanthal have started to become more obvious. Kanthal is notorious for heating up and cooling down slower than other materials. And while it’s a perfect material for micro-coils, building a large coil out of Kanthal can be a practice in frustration. It takes too long to get a satisfying hit, and it continues to hiss long after you’ve let the firing button go.
Enter Nichrome 80, arguably the best wire for large and elaborate coils. It has a lower resistance per length than Kanthal, and therefore heats up considerably quicker. Nichrome also doesn’t retain heat for as long, making it less likely to accidentally burn your cotton.
